Midgard 1.6 alpha plans

  We try to push a "1.6.0 alpha" out ASAP, with the following setup:

• midgard-lib with MultiLang enabled by default
• mod_midgard-preparser (no old mod_midgard at all)
• mod_midgard-preparser-apache2
• midgard-data with:
• datagard instead of dbinstall
• Aegir 1.0.2
• SpiderAdmin from CVS
• MidCOM from CVS
• midcom-template
• bunch of MidCOM components
• Windows 32 builds of all these (if Daniel gets them working)

We should quite clearly state that this release is for testing
only, and that testing should focus on following goals:

• Installation procedure with datagard
• Datagard security issues
• Translations for the user interfaces

Planned alpha release schedule: Christmas 2003

Tasks:

• Daniel will manage putting this release together
  (making tarballs, uploading them to the site)
• David will change multilang to be enabled by default
• Piotras will make the datagard package
  (Bergie sends a list of pkgs to include)
• Bergie writes the release announcement
