Ohloh is a service that analyses code and contributions in various free software projects. Their analysis of Midgard is quite good:

(because MidCOM is majority of Midgard code)

The first lines of source code were added to Midgard in 1999. This is a relatively long time for an open source project to stay active, and can be a very good sign.
