OPML Support in MidCOM

Helsinki, April 11th 2004 -- MidCOM's RSS news aggregator now includes support for OPML, the Outline Processor Mark-up Language.
OPML is a widely used format for sharing RSS news feed subscription lists. There is a popular Share Your OPML web service available for sharing and comparing subscription lists. Share Your OPML includes features like finding similar subscriber profiles.
The net.nemein.rss news aggregator supports both importing and exporting subscription lists via OPML. For example, the the subscription list of Planet OSCOM is available in XML format.
net.nemein.rss component is based on the Magpie RSS library and provides features required for both running Planet-like RSS news pages that combine stories from multiple sources and including simple news feeds on websites.
OPML import and export support has been tested with the NetNewsWire desktop RSS aggregator.
