Logging into MidCOM
Depending on the layout there usually is a Login link. If this is not the case, you can type in the address of your website and add midcom-login- to the address to login to your site. The address is usually in form http://www.example.com/midcom-login-.
It is recommended to use Mozilla Firefox v1.5 or later for content editing.
MidCOM toolbar
After logging in successfully there should appear a toolbar on the top of the screen. Toolbar is the center for all the actions concerning content production.
Toolbar consists of three main sections:
- Page
- Folder
- Website
Page
Under the section Page on MidCOM toolbar there are the operations for the currently viewed page. Usually it is possible – depending on the permission level – to Edit, Delete and – depending on the system configuration – Approve pages. Through the Page section it is also possible to see the revision history of the current page, if applicable.

Folder
Section Folder contains the operations the currently active folder and it also gives the operations for creating new subfolders.
Actions under the Folder section are discussed under the chapter Folder management.
Website
Section Website contains operations for editing the website and testing the environment. These features are mainly for site managers.
The most important feature of the Website section for content producers is Logout, which will end the editing session and sign out from the system.
Moving the toolbar
It is possible to move the toolbar around. Simply drag and drop the toolbar by pressing down on the moving grid on the right side of the toolbar.
