Aegir for End Users

The Sitegroup Administrator manages all the web pages and people under the sitegroup using Aegir. They create folders to build up the structure of the websites using the News and Articles functions, create user groups and add people to the groups with the Groups & People function, create and modify code snippets using the Snippets functions, and create new styles with the Style functions.

The Sitegroup administrator group is the default group of every sitegroup. The first member in the group is being added on creation of the sitegroup with a password supplied by the system Administrator.

The following diagram describes the system hierarchies of the Midgard from top down. The Sitegroup Administrator concerns mainly the construction of the middle area of the tree, i.e. Web Pages, Styles, and Groups and People, with the given access rights to all the functions below Companies.

Sitegroup Users have their access rights defined so that they can only edit permitted areas of the tree.
