    Wed July 09 2008 08:27:08 UTC
    Hi!

We have new binary package for Midgard 1.8.
I mentioned about this on my blog:
    http://blogs.nemein.com/people/piotras/view/1215591769.html.

Included distributions are: debian, ubuntu, fedore, centos, opensuse.

    Complain about any issue :)

    Hi!

I just tried to install the packages on Ubuntu 8.04 and it complains
that the package "midcom-indexer" couldn't be found. Is that included in
a different repository or was synaptic just too stupid to find it?

    Bye,

    Andreas

midgard package still contains indexer in deps. That's wrong.
Either force install or remove midgard meta package and install via
    midgard-data.

    Hi again,

There's an issue with rcs and dialog and midgard-data package build for
    ubuntu.
I updated debian files so at least new midgard-data for debian is
    already rebuilt.
It's 1.8.8-2 so there shouldn't be problems with upgrade via apt-get.

We have new binary package for Midgard 1.8.

    very nice :)

If you can spare some time could you outline your steps and/or point me to some tutorials on this?

Reason is: I'd really like to build a midgard-1.8.8 rpm for a SuSE 9.3 System as it's still widespread among german providers, but starting from scratch would probably take quite some time (which i think would be wasted since you already figured out how to do it...).

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

We build packages at Opensuse build system which means we only upload spec file and release tarball. The rest is done by OBS. I think you should download source rpm and rebuild on target system.
