ActiveLucene certainly provides a very flexible full text search querying. I found it quite useful , but I’m not too sure about it being a better full text search option. Anyways, you can give it a try , chk out the below mentioned link: http://search.lucidimagination.com/search/document/CDRG_ch06_6.1

This might be a good time to rethink the website all over. The fact is
that the current website doesn't serve us well, so I would propose that
we talk this through in the Gathering and decide the timetable for new site.

But that leaves one question still open. What to do with the old site.
There is a lot of history and old documentation, that we can't just
delete. We could take offline copy of the site and just dump it to
  address like midgard-project.org/midgard1/

I can handle some tasks: installing midgard, copying database and blobs,
setting things up. But I expect I will need some help with midcom.

I can help with the midcom-side after next week, if the idea is just to
upgrade and not to do any development for the site. The site contains a
lot of small usability bugs that I wouldn't want to address now.

As anykey has passed away im in the works of migrating from the old
serverroom.

I have prepared new VPS machines to host midgard-project. And in some
time i might be able to donate new hardware to run the VPS machines on
their own.

109.228.130.112 will be www.midgard-project.org
109.228.130.113 will be trac.midgard-project.org

On them right now is a clean ubuntu karmic x64 install. Should i change
that?

I might be able to provide a demo vps aswell but this is a good start so
we can migrate the website.

Proposal for Midgard Gathering: start with lightning talks

Hi

We had an idea with Jerry for Gathering and we would like to hear if
anyone feels that this is a good idea or not.

What if we start the gathering with lightning talks of interesting
things people have done with Midgard and things that people would like
to have in Midgard. For example W_I would like to talk a bit about
messaging system inside Midgard. Also, I would like very much if people
would tell about the projects they have done with Midgard and what went
well and what kind a problems you encountered. And after the talks
people could give thumbs up or down, whether we should address this
topic in a grater sense later in the gathering.

So, in short:
* max 10 minutes per talk
* Short presentation
* Topics can be for example
** 'I really would like to see this in Midgard'
** 'We did this website with Midgard and we encountered this kind a
problems and we really should do something about this'
** 'We are using Midgard for something completly different and this is
   what we are doing'
* After each talk, raise of hands, whether we should discuss a bit more
  about this

By doing something like this, we would get sort of a kick start to the
gathering and we would pretty soon see all the topic we need to address.

Hi

I created a page about the event to m-p.org and started to gather topics
to discuss and participants list there. Also, I made a preliminary
timetable, because we need at least decide the exact time for the
midgard association annual meeting. I propose that the annual meeting
will be held on Saturday at 3 pm.

Hi

So, it looks like the dates and place is set, regarding the talks in
list, IRC and jabber.

The next Midgard Gathering will be held in Łódź, Poland on 9.-11.4.2010.

The exact location will be conference room in Hotel Ibiz
(http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-3096-ibis-lodz-centrum/index.shtml).

Piotras has reserved 7 two person rooms. You can reserve the room by
sending email to Piotras saying the dates you are going to be around and
if there are any other preferences. If the 7 rooms are not enough for
us, Piotras can at least tell you where you should look for a room.

Conference room has been reserved for Saturday and Sunday, so basicly
friday is only for traveling, check in, some small talk and lots of
beer. Saturday and Sunday will be big days for discussions and at least
I'm planning to get back home on Monday.

So, this is the situation for now.
