Open Source Content Management Framework

Status of Midgard MVC

  1. Status of Midgard MVC

    Hi, all

Last weekend we had a pretty productive debugging session with Tero.
As a result, I think it is now safe to say that Midgard MVC changes
resulting from the configuration stack and request handling APIs are
    now properly integrated everywhere.

This means that Midgard MVC APIs should be more or less frozen now for
    the Ratatoskr cycle.

So, what remains to be done before we're ready for Ratatoskr on the MVC end?

    * MVC installer (based on Pake, being worked on by Alexey)
    * Performance tuning (waiting for cachegrind logs from the Qaiku folks
    on this one)
    * Improving unit test coverage of midgardmvc_core (now at 27.5%)
    * Documenting how the new MVC framework works
    * CMS UI concept (designed together with Arttu, needs to be written
    and drawn to proper wireframes)
    * CMS UI implementation

In any case, now MVC itself should be quite safe for usage.

    /Henri
