  1. Midgard Gatherings this year, where, when?

    Tue February 09 2010 12:20:07 UTC
    Hi, all

Traditionally we've had two Midgard Gatherings a year - a spring one
(in Feb-Apr) in Linköping, and a fall one somewhere else.

However, this year is a bit different. We'll have two gatherings
    coinciding with free software conferences:

    * aKademy in Tampere, Finland on July 3rd-5th. We'll have a Midgard room

    * FSCONS in Gothenburg, Sweden probably in beginning of November.
Midgard Gathering will be its own conference track

However, what this leaves out is the spring gathering. Both Piotras
and SmallOne have volunteered to host it, so we need to make decisions
    on both place and date.

Three weeks passed by since Henri opened this poll and 8 people have
answered to it. And at the moment the first proposed date is less than a
month away, so we should do something about this, because at least for
me, it would be really nice to know this kind a things in advance.

So, regarding the dates, seems like it's either 26.-28.3. or 9.-11.4.
I'm in favor of the later weekend, because I can't make it to the date
    suggested in March.

But where? I'm in favor of going to Poland, but going to Sweden suits me
as well (coffee and food speaks in favor of Sweden really well). Anyhow,
as Henri wrote, we have 'kind-a-gathering' in Finland next summer in
aKademy, so from my point of view it's best to hold the gathering
    somewhere else than in Finland.

So, all in all, I would appreciate, if those who have volunteered to
host it, would say something regarding the place we could be in, because
if this really becomes an issue, we should deside the place in terms of
space for hacking, expences of travel and hotels.

Hoping to hear from you and hopefully we see each others soon. In the
end, location and weekend are just a things to decide, the most
important is to be together and make Midgard even better.

I'm still open for keeping it here in Sweden. Same hostel as last time.
Another office to spend the time in. (not as nice as the last one but
    lots of space)

My connectivity from Brazil is a bit limited so would be great if you
can take the initiative in coordinating the event.

That latter weekend is better of the two for me too.

Actually, we have venues for two Gatherings this year, only this
    spring one is missing:

    * in Tampere, Finland during aKademy (early July)
    * in Gothenburg, Sweden during FSCONS (early November)

Unfortunately, I still have no strict answer for my questions related to
    making gathering in particular places.

But, if anybody wants to go to Lodz.

    Hotel Ibis:

    * there are still 7 (two persons) rooms (~50 Euro per room)
    * conference room with wireless internet connection ~350 Euros (two days)
    * 500 meters to the first pub

Do you know how large the conference room is ? OTOH having it at/near
the hotel is a big plus.

I didn't send this to list. Plan was to make reservation in closed room
in a pub. So you know, at late evening we could just replace notebooks
with beers on the table :)

Yes, per room and per night.

Room is at the hotel, and up to 25 people.

    Important notes:

    * beer in pubs: ~2 Euros
    * lunch/dinner: ~5 Euros
