  1. Developer meeting this summer?

    Thu January 01 1970 00:00:00 UTC

    Hi!

Tarjei suggested that we should arrange a Midgard Developer Meeting this summer, and I fully agree. Lots of things have happened since the previous one in Linköping and we should get people together to synchronize the "grand 1.9 vision".

Some things to discuss at least:

    • Legacy-free Midgard
      • Getting rid of Repligard
      • Old API and the Midgard-Lite approach
      • Replacing old admin UIs with Aegir2
    • Coreifying MidCOM functionality
      • ACL in the core
      • Search in the core
      • Version control
    • The new editing UI and "floating toolbar"
    • Apache Incubator process

Regarding schedule, I'm going to be in GUADEC in late June, and doing the Death Monkey thing early July. How about you others?

We also need to think about the place. Finland is very nice during summer, but a bit expensive to travel for the central Europeans. I wouldn't mind doing it in Germany or Poland. Any suggestions?

    /Henri

Maybe the mid-June would work well. Something like June 16th - 18th?

Jukka, Torben and Piotras: I'd like to hear how this weekend would sound for you. If it isn't OK, then please suggest others.

Poland would work well for me. Piotras/Solt, would you be able to host this?

If it is Poland, the Nemein team will either jump on motorcycles and head south on Via Baltica, or acquire a Midgard-powered private plane:

Though I do not work for the University anynmore I think I could arrange a place there like during last meeting. I could also host some 2 or 3 people at my place and there still is a hotel you lived in before.

As for dates, 16-18 June suits me but I am affraid there are exams at Uni this time. I will check.

I've completely forgotten... There is a place near Poznan, in Komorniki (heading Wroclaw) next to a highway. I got wide access to it and no time limits :) However it in the suburbs. The venue wuold be open for us for whole weekend.

    That sounds perfect.

Seems like most people agree on the June 16th - 18th date, though Torben might be having issues with it, so I'd propose to go with this weekend.

Between Poznan and Wroclaw would be very good for me also, as if I'm not going to GUADEC there is a wedding on Jun 24th in Wroclaw I was invited to :-)
